Would fuel pump come on if ignition control module is bad?

1994 ford explorer. truck will die sometimes die while driving and i will have to wait a few minutes until it will start again. i cant hear the fuel pump come on when i turn the key when it will not startWould fuel pump come on if ignition control module is bad?
The ignition system and the fuel system are totally different. You may have a fuel pump issue. The only to way tell is to have a fuel gage on the system when it dies. Just because you here the pump turning on doesn't mean you have enough fuel pressure. If it is below the minimum pressure, the pump or the pressure regulator is bad.Your ignition module could also have a intermittent ';No Spark'; condition. The best advice I can give you is bring it into a trusted shop and have them diagnose your concern. You may have to leave it with them a few days so they can duplicate your problem. Good Luck!Would fuel pump come on if ignition control module is bad?
The fuel pump relay is initially triggered by the EEC Power relay. The EEC relay powers up the fuel pump for about 2 seconds. Beyond that, a CKP (crankshaft position sensor) signal is required to keep the fuel pump relay energized. The CKP sensor is independent of the ignition module and it feeds both the EEC-IV module (aka PCM or main engine computer) and the ignition module.

These trucks are known for failed fuel pumps and relays as well as failed front hubs, bad transmissions, etc. Not exactly a reliable vehicle.

Back to your problem...Have a friend try to start your engine while you whack the fuel tank with a large rubber mallet. If the engine starts, the fuel pump is bad. Incredibly common on nearly all Ford products of this vintage.
yes it can. but it can be you cilinod.
