Why does our emergency heat controlled by a heat pump keep blowing the fuse?

It has been so cold that we have been using the emergency heat on our heat pump/central air system but it keeps blowing the fuse. We have to keep going down cellar and switching it back over until it stays and then a few hours later it does it again. Why would it keep doing this and what can we do to stop it?Why does our emergency heat controlled by a heat pump keep blowing the fuse?
Sounds like it is drawing more power than your system can handle. You need to contact an electrician to look at this. Since it is an emergency system, it was probably added on later and not properly tested. If it is a new home, consult your warranty. Why does our emergency heat controlled by a heat pump keep blowing the fuse?
Could be a bad motor pulling too many amps, could be a bad element (assuming an electric furnace), could be improperly wired with too much crap on one circuit breaker. Call an HVAC Tech, if reputable they should be far more well equipped than an electrician to handle your problem.
