The price of petrol (gasoline) has decreased by almost 12% in the past month where I live, so *it* does happen.

Price of goods solely determined by what people will pay
Gold did not suddenly get more expensive to produce, at yet it has risen 2x in the last few years
I believe that a small crystal vase just sold for several million, can't imagine that it costs as much to make a vase as a large mansion
If we stop buying it or use less the price will go down
At one point Aluminum was more precious than gold, until people learned to make it from the oxide, then it became cheap
